Planning a trip to LA usually gets me in a cold sweat. There's several reasons for this, traffic being on the top of the list, choosing an inexpensive, clean and centralized hotel in a large city such as Los Angeles is a close second. I decided to combat the traffic issue by activating my navigation on my Blackberry (Highly recommended and worth the extra bucks).
After researching a variety of hotels, motels, B & Bs, I decided on Hacienda Hotel near LAX.
My six feet tall business partner and I drove into Long Beach late on Tuesday night and cautiously strolled into the main lobby adjacent to the garage. We received a warm welcome, quick service and directions to a late meal from a smiling and friendly young woman at the front desk.
As we walked away towards the elevator I to agreed with my partner that so far so good, this hotel seemed pleasant enough.
While Hacienda Hotel near LAX is not a five star, or five diamond property it is a extremely clean and straight to the point in a great and safe neighborhood. The beach is a block away, restaurants are plenty and access to all major highways are less then couple minutes (very easy with the help of a good map and or navigator, again highly recommended for us out of townees).
Across from Hacienda Hotel we got a very good fresh and plentiful continental breakfast and we thanked the front-desk for the recommendation and great customer service. There is nothing I can think about which might me feel otherwise, as mentioned earlier we arrived to the hotel late and yet we were able have a longer sleep because there was minimal noise of early raisers and housekeeping as the rooms seem to be well insulated and sounds do not traveled straight through the walls which makes it easier to get a very good night sleep. In the morning we both were able to walk across to the beach and take 40 minutes pleasant fast walk around the neighborhood...
So Yes I would recommend the Hacienda Hotel near LAX to everyone I know. In-fact as this trip was a business trip and we had scheduled several meetings, we didn't to even have to leave the hotel to meet with our prospects. Being very close to LA and nearby Freeways made it possible for clients to meet us at the hotel and so I'll be visiting the Hacienda Hotel again, with sneakers in tow for even a better run in the morning. Conclusion, at Hacienda Hotel the price is right, the employees are friendly, the locations is great, and the rooms are clean, final bonus is sleeping through the night with minimum distractions from outside the room.
